Traditionally, “integrative” has meant bringing together schools of therapy
that otherwise belong to separate traditions.

But this assumes those traditions are natural categories.

They are not.

Instead, we move forward by recognizing that psychological theories
describe different states or dimensions of human being.

Social (Cogntive) Learning Theory

Key thinker – Albert Bandura

Describes how humans learn behavior by observing others and interpreting what they see. Learning occurs through the interaction of cognition, behavior, and environment.

Third Wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

These theories find their foundations in CBT, but emphasize acceptance, mindfulness, context, and values rather than directly disputing thoughts
